End Of September Update

Today it's time for another end of the month update and this month I've been super busy! I've moved back to university and started my second year which is scary stuff! Apart from that I've been relaxing in-between work and classes and have quite a few favourites.

TV Shows
Both of these series are finished and are fully available to binge watch its' entirety on Netflix (which I can personally recommend).

1. The Killing
Now this was a random show that I found out of the blue and suddenly became obsessed with! It follows two detectives and crimes/murders they have to figure out. It's got super dark, gritty, mystery/thriller feel to it that I loved. I'd describe it as a darker, more in-depth version of CSI or NCIS and is a lot more realistic. Surprisingly I also cried a lot!

2. Gossip Girl
My final favourite show of the month is one of my all time favourites. I ended up re-watching it this month and I forgot how much I adore this! It's a similar show to 90201, featured in a previous monthly update | link, but set in New York and definitely has a more serious vibe to it. Now, if that doesn't persuade you, I just have one person to sway you - Chuck Bass.

Books
Sadly, due to moving back to university I didn't have a lot of time to read but I managed to find two books that have stood out to me.

1. Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout
The first series of books was a re-read for me and that was the LUX series and honestly it is one of my all time favourites by one of my top authors! It features aliens but in a completely different light! I find it's best going into it not knowing a lot. But what I will say is, if you like paranormal, romance and something that will hook you and end up flying by this is it for you.
Rated 5 stars.

Favourite Quote: "“Why are you such an ass?" The words came out before I could think twice.
"Everyone has to excel at something, right?" "

2. The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black
The second, is a book I was really unsure whether I would like or not, but ended up loving. It centres around a brother and sister who live in a town where there's a boy asleep in a glass coffin in the centre of the woods - sounds exciting right? It is! It's got the vibe of a fairytale retelling but still feels completely new and unique. It's a fantasy fey containing book with a small amount of romance that doesn't take away from the main plot of the book.
Rated 5 stars.

Favourite Quote: "Once, there was a girl who vowed she would save everyone in the world, but forgot herself."

Music
I've only been listening to one album and single on repeat this month which is;

1. Beauty Behind the Madness by The Weeknd
Overall, I adore the whole album but one song that specifically stood out to me was 'Dark Times' featuring Ed Sheeran. This album is a must listen.

2. Infinity by One Direction
I must admit One Direction is my guilty pleasure, and since Zayn left I was unsure how their music was going to play out. But this new single is amazing and has a brand new sound to them that I'm loving and is getting me excited for their upcoming album.

Film
I have only seen one movie this month but luckily I loved it and that's Sinister 2! It wasn't as scary as the first one, but it definitely made me jump out of my seat a bunch in the cinema!

Thank you for reading,

End Of August Update

Hey,
It's time for another end of the month update for you and this one is definitely going to be a packed one!

TV Shows
One of these shows is an all-time favourite of mine, whilst the other has become a new obsession. But, as you can tell both have the "rich, glamour" lifestyle vibe and both centre around hot weather and gorgeous beaches - perfect to keep my summer vibe going.
1. 90210
This is an all-time favourite of mine, that I think I've re-watched over 5 times! I just love the drama, beautiful scenery and of course extremely attractive actors in it. The character development is flawless across the seasons and doesn't feel forced. The show centres around a group of friends, living the privileged life and the problems that come with it. All but last season is on UK Netflix, so I definitely recommend a binge watch!
2. Rich Kids of Beverly Hills
Obviously, this is pretty similar to 90210, but is a reality TV show - so is a tad more realistic. This has a similar vibe to Keeping Up With The Kardashians - so I definitely recommend this if you like that. I must admit this show is more something I like to watch when I don't want to think to much, and it is honestly pretty cool getting to see the experiences they get to have.

Books
This month I ended up completing my Goodreads goal of reading 80 books which is immense! So, obviously I had to choose between a lot of book. Both ended up being the final instalments in trilogies - but I do recommend both of the trilogies!
1. We'll Always Have Summer [#3] (Summer Series) by Jenny Han
This series follows Belly (awful name I know), and her trips to their friends summer house every summer. It follows struggles she has to face, and how suddenly she starts to grow feelings for the two brothers she goes with. (Yes, I know a love triangle but honestly this is done so perfectly.) The last book was surprisingly my favourite and I actually teared up towards the end. Overall, the Summer series is a great set of contemporary books to read on holiday or just during the summer.
Rated 3.5 stars.

Favourite Quote:  “But just because you bury something, that doesn’t mean it stops existing. Those feelings, they’d been there all along. All that time. I had to face it. He was part of my DNA. I had brown hair and I had freckles and I would always have Conrad in my heart. ”

2. Allegiant [#3] (Divergent Series) by Veronica Roth
I've adored this series from start to finish, the action, drama, concept and slight romance in the novel is perfect! For fans of The Hunger Games, I definitely recommend starting this! Also, check out the films as I love the films as well. This series centres around Tris and a society that places people into factions, of which Tris has to decide to stay with her family in Abnegation or take a risk and move somewhere else. Luckily, I loved the final book but it has started a lot of controversy so be prepared!
Rated 5 stars.

Favourite Quote: “There are so many ways to be brave in this world. Sometimes bravery involves laying down your life for something bigger than yourself, or for someone else. Sometimes it involves giving up everything you have ever known, or everyone you have ever loved, for the sake of something greater. But sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it is nothing more than gritting your teeth through pain, and the work of every day, the slow walk toward a better life. That is the sort of bravery I must have now.”

Music
I've mainly just been listening to this playlist, on spotify and its great to keep up to date with the current hits and favourites! I've also been loving Slow Motion by Trey Songz.

Film
I adored the 'Riot Club' this month, it was completely different to what I expected but was so phenomenal and had such a lesson behind it. I recommend going into this not knowing anything because then you'll be just as shocked as I was. And, honestly look at that cast who could turn down watching that?!

SS15 ASOS WishList

Hey lovelies,
Today I've done a collection of all the clothes I've been lusting after off ASOS, to buy for this upcoming season. I'm also going on holiday this summer, so I thought it would be perfect to find some lovely pieces to wear over there! I'm also now posting a new post every Wednesday and Saturday!

  1. Mango Denm Dungarees | £54.99. I've been dying to get my hands on the perfect pair of dungarees, and these perfectly fit the bill.
  2. ASOS Line A-Line Shorts | £20. These shorts are absolutely beautiful and would be perfect on holiday as they easily can be dressed up or dressed down.
  3. ASOS Shift Dress with High Neck {in Cream} | £12.50. A gorgeous, simple dress that's on sale - how could you resist that?
  4. ASOS Kimono Cardigan with Fringing | £35. This would be a perfect pull-over to just about any piece, and with the added fringe means it's bang on trend.
  5. ASOS Playsuit with Off Shoulder Ruffle in Daisy Print | £18.50. A pretty playsuit that I could dress up with heels or wear on a day out on holiday - even to the beach. I will also probably end up wearing to the upcoming festivals I have lined up.
  6. ASOS Abstract Check T-Shirt | £25. This beautiful shirt would be perfect to pair with jeans and is keeping you on trend with the abstract print.

  1. ASOS Slim Cigarette Linen Trouser | £22. These are beautiful trousers I can dress up for nights out or even wear on cold summer days in Britain with a pretty blouse.
  2. ASOS Bandeau Playsuit with Scallop Edge | £15. I'm a massive sucker for a pretty playsuit, and scallop detailing so I couldn't really resist this piece, especially for such a cheap price!
  3. ASOS Skater Dress with T-Shirt Overlay {in Sky Blue} | £25. I adore this simple dress and will probably end up wearing it any chance I get, from trips during the day visiting different markets on holiday to meals out at night.
  4. ASOS Textured Short in Tile Print | £22. I find it quite difficult to wear bright prints and patterns, but this print is so elegant and simple that I didn't struggle with myself once.
  5. ASOS Ultimate Chunky Jumper with V-Neck {in Camel} | £28. I understand a jumper doesn't spring to mind summer, but it's a beautiful colour (if you hadn't guessed already I'm obsessed with the colour camel) and would be perfect to pull on, on a day where it's a bit chilly (pretty much most days in Britain).
  6. Puma Leggings with Abstract Print & Panel Detail | £32. These workout leggings are gorgeous, and will be perfect for my yoga/pilates classes I do.

  1. ASOS Playsuit in Pretty Floral Print with Tassle Tie | £35. The print of this playsuit screams summer, and with the lovely open back it would be perfect for anyone with a tan.
  2. New Look Petite Suedette Mini Skirt | £19.99. A lovely skirt that would be suitable all year round.
  3. Chi Chi London Full Prom Skater Dress with Embroidered Daisy Hem | £62. This dress is stunning and would be perfect to wear for a summer party or special occasion.
  4. Puma Leggings with Monotone Abstract Stripe Print | £32. I have become totally hooked on these puma leggings, with these beautiful prints and perfect material I need every single one!
  5. ASOS Petite High Neck Skater Dress in Mono Paisley | £22. A light dress that would be great for festivals, the beach, on holiday or out for a meal.
  6. ASOS Wrap Playsuit with Lace Hem in New Floral Print | £35. A stunning playsuit that would pair perfectly with flats or heels.

Winter Must Haves

Hey lovelies!
Today I thought I'd do a post featuring my winter essentials. These are items I seem to use all the time throughout winter and honestly don't think I could survive without during the colder months.

  1. Warm Scarf, mine you can purchase here for £19.99. Even though I am considering doing winter fashion post, I couldn't not include my favourite purchase this year which is my cape from New Look. I believe a winter scarf is a must, it adds so much to a look and keeps you super warm. But, this year I decided to mix it up and buy a cape - and honestly I can't remember the last time wearing this I felt cold.
  2. A nourishing, repairing hair conditioner, I recommend the TRESemme 'Platinum Strength Deep Conditioning Treatment', purchase here for £5.69. A product I always float towards during winter is a deep conditioning treatment. I find my hair during winter seems to easily knot itself together and form a frizzy, tangled mess due to the rain, wind and freezing temperatures. So, once a week I like to use my TRESemme deep conditioning treatment, as I feel it really improves the health of my hair but doesn't weigh it down nor leave it feeling greasy or waxy.
  3. A moisturising, medium coverage base product, I recommend Jouer 'Matte Moisture Tint' for £29, mine is in the shade 'Porcelain'. I adore this base as it keeps my skin hydrated and healthy looking during these colder months, but still gives a lovely medium amount of coverage and is matte a.k.a oil free and no shiny t-zone for me! This also contains an SPF 15 which is perfect for the winter months when lets be honest there will be zero sun in sight. Furthermore, this feels so lightweight and is so easy to apply that you can slap this onto your face in a rush during those mornings where you chose to spend an extra few minutes in your warm, toasty bed instead of getting up.
  4. Reliably, hydrating lip balm, my recommendation is the Nuxe 'Reve de Miel Baume Levres Ultra-Nourrissant Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm', for £9.50. Honestly, this must be the longest name for a lip balm in history, ever. But, this is worth the steep price! I recently just purchase this and it has blown me away! I always get awful, cracked, sore lips that usually only Elizabeth Adren can fix but this has to come to my rescue! Furthermore, it smells delicious! Reminding me of oranges, which is a perfect pick-me-up during these cold months.
  5. A hair oil, of which I recommend the obvious 'Moroccan Oil Treatment' for £13.45. This is amazing! It keeps my hair healthy and soft throughout any type of weather! This can also be used on the skin but I use it mainly for my hair. The smell is also absolutely delicious.
  6. Moisturiser, mine is the Nivea 'In-Shower Moisturiser' for £3.55. I love this moisturiser purely because you apply whilst your showering and then after a few minutes shower it off. This means I won't have to stand shivering, naked in my room while quickly trying to rub in a moisturiser so I can put my bathrobe back on.
  7. A good, hydrating mask, my utter favourite and most loved is the Origins 'Drink Up 10 Minute Mask' for £23. This is amazing and I love to use this once a week, especially after a clay mask! This is also perfect to apply before getting ready for an event, if you want fresh, healthy, glowing skin! Even though I have oily-combination skin this doesn't make my skin any oiler, just leaves my skin, especially my dehydrated cheeks, lovely and soft. A perfect treat to use during Winter.
  8. A berry lip, for example Too Faced 'Mood Swing Gloss' in the shade 'Pink Shimmer'. I love this lipgloss as it isn't sticky, helps hydrate and maintain my lips and gives my lips a lovely natural berry colour. Especially as there is more than one type of colour this lip gloss gives it's always exciting to use and is applicable in many situations!

Haul

Hey lovelies!

I thought I'd upload some products I bought a couple of weeks back in a haul I didn't entirely plan on doing! Some of these are also featured in my new YouTube video (watch here when uploaded) as I missed a few in that video, and I don't have photos of some of the items I bought for this post. But, I will still list them (just because I'm nice!) I uploaded these photos to my Instagram on the actual day I purchased them, so if you want to check my Instagram out just click here.

Fashion

First few things I bought are from Topshop and I did intend to buy the leggings as a) I love leggings, b) Check/tartan is in at the moment and it's one of my favourite patterns and c) The colour combination is gorgeous! I purchased them in petite because I have tiny legs but they are also available in regular and tall. You can purchase them here for £25. The second item I bought from Topshop was this stunning bralet as I've been dying to get my hands on one for ages but they've not always been exactly to my liking - until I saw this beauty! It's just black with lace detail and is so pretty. Sadly, it isn't online but the exact same one in a different colour is, for £22 here.

Make-Up

Finally is make-up and as you can see I had a major spending spree in MAC, for no real reason but who ever does? My first purchase was MAC's lipstick in 'Rebel', a product I've been eyeing up for ages and is a gorgeous winter colour and is described as a 'mid tonal plum with a satin finish'. I find I can either wear it with little eye-makeup to draw attention to my lips or dress it up with a full face of make-up! You can purchase here for £15. Secondly, is a blush in 'Fleur Power' and I'd heard so much about this blush but I had never really swatched it nor seen it in real life. As soon as I swatched it in the store I knew I had to buy it, the texture is beautiful leaving my cheeks with a naturally healthy glow. I'd describe it as a warm toned pink and has suddenly become my new favourite blusher. You can purchase this awesome blush here for £18. Next, is MAC'S famous eyeshadow in 'Nylon', a colour I've been dying to get my hands on to fill up my pro-palette as I feel this colour is a necessity. When I first saw this on store I was a tad disappointed as it didn't live up to expectations YouTube had created, but as soon as this colour graced my hand with a swatch I understood the hype - completely. The colour is a gorgeous highlight and is extremely pigmented. It's described as being a 'pale gold with icy shimmer' and can be purchased for £10 here. My final purchase is the 217 brush which is the first MAC brush I've ever bought, and so far it hasn't disappointed me. I've only used it twice as I haven't used much eyeshadow these past couple of weeks but it's lovely to work with. Can be purchased for £18 here.

Other Purchases

This is a list of all the other beauty related products I bought but don't have a photo of:
    1. Sleek Blush by 3 in 'Pink Lemonade' - £9.99
    2. Topshop Glow Highlighter in 'Polish' - £9.00
    3. Revlon Powder Blush in 'Haute Pink' - £7.99
    4. Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in 'Shameless' - £7.99
    5. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in 'Juicy Papaya' - £7.99
    6. Collection Gothic Glam in '1 Seduction' - £2.99
    7. Collection Gothic Glam in '3 Revenge' - £2.99

Hair Care Favourites & Outfit of the Month

Hey wonderful readers,
It has sadly come to the last of my three set post on my favourites for the past previous months but fear not, my posts will still continue and I will still have beauty favourites of the month but they just won't be this packed! Click to see my first post(skincare and body favourites) or second post (makeup favourites).

First is my favourite hair care products, and I've honestly stepped it up on the hair care front as during the summer my hair always become really dry and unattractive!

My first hair care favourite is 'Head & Shoulders' "2 in 1 Itchy Scalp Care', for £4.99. Now I do understand it doesn't sound entirely pleasant, but I'm pretty sensitive to strong shampoos and conditioners and with the heat my scalp became quite dry and this helped so much. It contains Aloe Vera which soothed my head and also actually smelt quite pleasant. Especially, as it's a 2 in 1 it's extremely quick and easy to use, and meant I didn't have to pack as much in my luggage. I normally use this alongside a hair treatment (one or both of my next two hair care favourites normally).
Next is two hair care treatments, the first being 'Aussie's' "Miracle Hair Insurance" leave in conditioner, for £4.49. I absolutely adore this treatment, it smells amazing, is brilliant at detangling my hair when I get out the shower to apply it and I can actually recognise the difference it makes when I do and don't use it. Furthermore, it's a spray so is really fast and simple to use and isn't too gloopey or heavy. As I find some hair treatments result in making my hair greasy. Finally, my last hair care treatment is 'Avon's' "Advance Techniques 360 Nourishment Moroccan Argan Oil Leave in Treatment", for £2.99. This works amazing alongside the "Miracle Hair Insurance" as I usually apply that, wait a while then add this to the ends of my hair to add that extra nourishment to my most dry area of my hair. It definitely makes my hair softer, glossier and shinier.

 Favourite Outfit of the Month

Awful photo I know
I really adore this look and have wore it multiple times, due to it being so comfy but still looks like you have made an effort. Especially, as camis and boots are in at the moment which is even better! Tartan and heart prints are also in fashion at the moment, and I most likely will feature two clothing items related to them later on in my blog posts. Most of these products are from New Look purely because it's one of my all time favourite clothing shops, as it's on trend and fashionable but a decent price and good quality.
Cardi (not in this photo but is adorable) - £24.99
Cami - £9.99
Jeans - £22.99
Boots (i adore) - Mine aren't available anymore as I've had them for a year
but similar ones, £45.00 , £50.00 or £29.99
Watch - £259
