Space NK Sale Purchases

Hey lovelies!
Sorry for the lack of posts but I decided to take a break over Christmas and have just finished my university exams I had over the holidays, fun!
Today I thought I'd do a post featuring all the products I bought during the Christmas/January sales. It honestly wasn't a lot, as I got plenty for Christmas and funnily enough everything I bought was off Space NK! I loved their sale this year, as the previous ones I could never find anything, and the fact they were doing free delivery! It. Was. A. Must.

  1. The first thing I got was the NUDE Purify Cleansing Wash. This is supposed to deep clean the skin whilst controlling oil - it's set at oily/combination skin types. The description for the product ticked all the right boxes for me, especially as I've been eager to try something from NUDE for a while. I intend to use this with my Clarisonic, once my current foaming cleanser runs out.
  2. Second purchase was the Kiehl's Oil Eliminator Set. This included: A small sized cleanser and toner, and a regular sized moisturiser. Now I understand this is marketed for men, but the description and basis of the product is perfect for my skincare - also skin is skin right? So either way I bought it, especially as the sizes are perfect for travelling and it makes it so much easier and cheaper to try out other products from Kiehls, a brand so far with previous products I've been impressed with. You can view a review for this here.
  3. Thirdly I bought the REN Kit for Combination Skin, which includes a cleansing gel, balancing fluid and a mask. These all comes as sample sizes - another perfect set of products to use as travelling skincare. The main reason I bought these was a) because I have combination skin and b) to try out REN skincare which seems to be loved by anybody and everybody in the beauty world.
  4. The final purchase of the day was Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate - although this wasn't in the sale. I've been dying to get my hands on this for years and finally have! A review of this will definitely be up and coming!

Thank you for reading lovelies!
Don't hesistate to let me know what you bought over the winter sale period or your thoughts on any of the products I've bought!

Winter Must Haves

Hey lovelies!
Today I thought I'd do a post featuring my winter essentials. These are items I seem to use all the time throughout winter and honestly don't think I could survive without during the colder months.

  1. Warm Scarf, mine you can purchase here for £19.99. Even though I am considering doing winter fashion post, I couldn't not include my favourite purchase this year which is my cape from New Look. I believe a winter scarf is a must, it adds so much to a look and keeps you super warm. But, this year I decided to mix it up and buy a cape - and honestly I can't remember the last time wearing this I felt cold.
  2. A nourishing, repairing hair conditioner, I recommend the TRESemme 'Platinum Strength Deep Conditioning Treatment', purchase here for £5.69. A product I always float towards during winter is a deep conditioning treatment. I find my hair during winter seems to easily knot itself together and form a frizzy, tangled mess due to the rain, wind and freezing temperatures. So, once a week I like to use my TRESemme deep conditioning treatment, as I feel it really improves the health of my hair but doesn't weigh it down nor leave it feeling greasy or waxy.
  3. A moisturising, medium coverage base product, I recommend Jouer 'Matte Moisture Tint' for £29, mine is in the shade 'Porcelain'. I adore this base as it keeps my skin hydrated and healthy looking during these colder months, but still gives a lovely medium amount of coverage and is matte a.k.a oil free and no shiny t-zone for me! This also contains an SPF 15 which is perfect for the winter months when lets be honest there will be zero sun in sight. Furthermore, this feels so lightweight and is so easy to apply that you can slap this onto your face in a rush during those mornings where you chose to spend an extra few minutes in your warm, toasty bed instead of getting up.
  4. Reliably, hydrating lip balm, my recommendation is the Nuxe 'Reve de Miel Baume Levres Ultra-Nourrissant Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm', for £9.50. Honestly, this must be the longest name for a lip balm in history, ever. But, this is worth the steep price! I recently just purchase this and it has blown me away! I always get awful, cracked, sore lips that usually only Elizabeth Adren can fix but this has to come to my rescue! Furthermore, it smells delicious! Reminding me of oranges, which is a perfect pick-me-up during these cold months.
  5. A hair oil, of which I recommend the obvious 'Moroccan Oil Treatment' for £13.45. This is amazing! It keeps my hair healthy and soft throughout any type of weather! This can also be used on the skin but I use it mainly for my hair. The smell is also absolutely delicious.
  6. Moisturiser, mine is the Nivea 'In-Shower Moisturiser' for £3.55. I love this moisturiser purely because you apply whilst your showering and then after a few minutes shower it off. This means I won't have to stand shivering, naked in my room while quickly trying to rub in a moisturiser so I can put my bathrobe back on.
  7. A good, hydrating mask, my utter favourite and most loved is the Origins 'Drink Up 10 Minute Mask' for £23. This is amazing and I love to use this once a week, especially after a clay mask! This is also perfect to apply before getting ready for an event, if you want fresh, healthy, glowing skin! Even though I have oily-combination skin this doesn't make my skin any oiler, just leaves my skin, especially my dehydrated cheeks, lovely and soft. A perfect treat to use during Winter.
  8. A berry lip, for example Too Faced 'Mood Swing Gloss' in the shade 'Pink Shimmer'. I love this lipgloss as it isn't sticky, helps hydrate and maintain my lips and gives my lips a lovely natural berry colour. Especially as there is more than one type of colour this lip gloss gives it's always exciting to use and is applicable in many situations!

Winter Beauty Favourites 2/2 {Eyes&Lips - Inc. Swatches}

Hey lovelies!
Sorry I didn't post the second half of my winter favourites last week but I have had exams and they have been my priority but, here it is. This post includes my favourite eyeshadows for winter and my favourite lip products. Although, most of these I do wear quite a lot - bar the strong lipstick colours as I've only recently started to venture out of the pinks and neutral colours. If you want to see swatches, please scroll down to the end of the post.

Eyes

From L-R: MAC Woodwinked, Rimmel Smokey Quartz, Look Sexy Smoke,
Guerlain Turandot, Urban Decay Naked 1

First is MAC's 'Woodwinked', £10, and is the first eyeshadow I ever bought from MAC. I adore this colour and love how it can be used on it's own or mixed with other eyeshadows for a look with greater impact. It's a lovely warm-toned gold colour and although I wear it all round I think it's perfect for christmas, especially for a christmas party look! Secondly, is Rimmels Mono Eyeshadow in 'Smokey Quartz', £4.49, this has slightly less pigment but is still gorgeous to wear! This is a more cool-toned soft gold and looks beautiful with a cat eye.  Thirdly, is Look's 'Triple Hit Trio Eyeshadow' in 'Sexy Smoke', £7.50. This is a very basic smokey eye-kit and is quite blue toned, I also find the medium tone isn't very pigmented BUT I adore the look it creates and I'm going to be featuring it in a blog post soon! Next is Guerlain's eye shadow palette in 'Turandot', now this sadly was limited edition but at the moment it is being sold on eBay here. This eyeshadow palette is gorgeous, the colours are perfect for autumn/winter, they're richly pigmented and they're a bit different for me not too adventurous. Finally, is the famous Naked 1 palette, £37, and although I do love the whole palette during colder months I normally gravitate towards, 'Half Baked', 'Smog', 'Dark Horse', 'Toasted' and 'Hustle'. There's not much I can say about this palette that hasn't been said - apart from it's beautiful!

Lips

From L-R: Topshop Beguiled, Sleek Cherry, Topshop Wicked
Topshop Fox, Rimmel Apocoliptic, Topshop Deception
Firstly, is Topshop's lipsticks in 'Beguiled' and 'Wicked', £8.00. I adore these lipsticks purely because they're amazing! The pigment, consistency and just about everything is perfect for me. Although they may look the same, 'Beguiled' is a lot more of a darker wine colour, and you can't have too many lipsticks right? Next is Sleek's lipstick in 'Cherry', £4.99. I love this because it's a sheen and also hydrates my lips which I find necessary during the winter months. Yet again quite a similar colour but it's a lot richer - as you may have realised I started to get quite obsessed with the "vampy" style lip colour. Thirdly, is Topshop's Lip Cream in 'Foxy', £7.00. I love this because it's so creamy, smells of buttercream, looks beautiful and has superb pigmentation. I find this is perfect when I don't feel confident enough for a red lipstick as the gloss gives it a softer look. Fourthly, is Rimmel's famous Apocolips in 'Apocoliptic', £6.49. If you've not heard about these then where have you been?! These are gorgeous and this shade especially is perfect for going out on winter nights. Finally, is another Topshop product, it's Lip Liner in 'Deception', £5.00. This is a lovely lip liner and is a perfect shade for my Topshop lipsticks.

Swatches

Winter Beauty Favourites 1/2

Hey lovelies!
Sorry there wasn't a post last week but I've been writing this massive post and thought instead of posting a small, pointless post last week, I could just wait until now and post this! My second part of this post will be posted next week!

Here is a post I've created containing my favourite beauty products that I always wear during winter, although I'm not saying they're specific for winter, you can wear them anytime you like! I won't be going into extreme detail on each product as some of them I'm doing reviews for later on.

Base

First is base and for my base during winter I normally go for tinted moisturisers, purely because they give a a lovely coverage that's still natural and it hydrates my skin which is definitely needed during the harsh weather that comes with winter. My two favourite tinted moisturisers are the Laura Mercier 'Tinted Moisturiser' which has SPF 20 and is oil free, brilliant for oily skin. This can be purchased here for £33, I'm in shade 'Nude' but it is a bit dark for me at the moment. My other favourite is the Jouer 'Matte Moisture Tint' which is also oil free and has an SPF of 15. I feel this does give more coverage than the Laura Mercier one. You can purchase this here for £30 and I'm in shade 'Porcelain' which is the perfect match for me at the moment. Sorry they look a bit dirty but least it proves I use them!

Cheeks

Secondly, is cheeks which I definitely pay more attention to during the winter months! I'm a massive fan of giving warmth back into the face so I prefer berry tones. But, most of my blushes are quite natural as I find too much colour just makes you look silly. My first favourite which is a recent purchases is Benefit's cheek and lip tint in 'Benetint', which can be purchased here for £24.50. I love this because it can be used on both your cheeks and lips and it looks extremely natural because it's a tint. Next is Sleek's shimmer blush in 'Pomegranate' which can be purchased here for £4.49. This was a recent purchase and is most definitely one of the strongest in colour blushes I have, but it's so lovely. Thirdly, is Rimmel's 'Pink Rose' blush which I've had for years but I believe you can purchase here for £3.99. This is my all-time favourite blush purely because it looks extremely natural but still gives you a warm, healthy, berry-toned glow! My final winter favourite blush is NYC's Colour Wheel in 'Pink Cheek Glow' which can be purchased here for £3.99. Now this may look a bit crazy with the brown and all the different pinks, but it appears on the face so gorgeous and does give you a glow! I would say it gives you a similar colour to the Rimmel blush.

Thank you for reading lovelies!
